{"id":10301,"date":"2025-03-07T10:00:57","date_gmt":"2025-03-07T10:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/investingsstrategist.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/07\/unexploded-wwii-bomb-outside-paris-station-halts-eurostar-travel-to-london-and-trains-to-northern-france\/"},"modified":"2025-03-07T10:00:57","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T10:00:57","slug":"unexploded-wwii-bomb-outside-paris-station-halts-eurostar-travel-to-london-and-trains-to-northern-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/investingsstrategist.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/07\/unexploded-wwii-bomb-outside-paris-station-halts-eurostar-travel-to-london-and-trains-to-northern-france\/","title":{"rendered":"Unexploded WWII bomb outside Paris station halts Eurostar travel to London and trains to northern France"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Eurostar trains to London and all trains heading to northern France were brought to a halt Friday following the discovery of an unexploded World War II era bomb on tracks leading to the nation\u2019s busiest station.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Paris police said that at 4 a.m. Friday morning, a WW2 bomb was discovered by workers along railway tracks in Saint Denis.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Technicians from Paris\u2019 demining team are currently at the site, according to the police, with an SNCF spokesperson describing the bomb as \u201creally huge\u201d.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            \u201cThe bomb could be a serious threat to people\u2019s lives,\u201d the spokesperson said.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Traffic was \u201ccompletely blocked\u201d as of 9a.m. Friday morning, French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot said, disrupting suburban, regional and international trains.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Tabarot warned services will be \u201cstrongly shook up\u201d all day.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Gare du Nord is a major European transit hub, serving international destinations north of France as well as the main Paris airport and many regional commuters.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Tabarot said that he hoped a reduced service would be running on French lines by the afternoon.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            \u201cThere\u2019s no reason to fear,\u201d the minister told Sud Radio, \u201cIt can happen that deminers have to clear a certain number of abandoned bags sometimes.
