{"id":10391,"date":"2025-03-10T02:00:55","date_gmt":"2025-03-10T02:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/investingsstrategist.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/10\/prince-frederik-of-luxembourg-dies-from-rare-disease\/"},"modified":"2025-03-10T02:00:55","modified_gmt":"2025-03-10T02:00:55","slug":"prince-frederik-of-luxembourg-dies-from-rare-disease","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/investingsstrategist.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/10\/prince-frederik-of-luxembourg-dies-from-rare-disease\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince Frederik of Luxembourg dies from rare disease"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Prince Frederik of Luxembourg has died after a lifelong battle with a rare genetic disorder known as POLG mitochondrial disease.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            He passed away on March 1 in Paris, his family announced on the website of the POLG Foundation, which Frederik started in 2022.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            \u201cIt is with a very heavy heart that my wife and I would like to inform you of the passing of our son, The POLG Foundation Founder and Creative Director, Frederik,\u201d his father Prince Robert of Luxembourg wrote.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            The foundation describes POLG as a \u201cgenetic mitochondrial disorder that robs the body\u2019s cells of energy, in turn causing progressive multiple organ dysfunction and failure.\u201d    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            It said the disease has no treatment or cure.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            \u201cFrederik and the POLG Foundation \u2026 are committed to finding therapies and a cure to save other patients from suffering what Frederik and our family have endured,\u201d his father wrote.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\">            Prince Frederik died a day after Rare Disease Day.
